Israeli Aggression on Tubas
130 Palestinians have been injured due to Israeli aggression in Tubas Governorate in the northern West Bank since the military operation began last Wednesday.
Nidal Awda, the director of ambulance and emergency services in Tubas, told Anadolu Agency that since the start of the Israeli military operation in the governorate, 130 Palestinians have been injured due to assaults by the Israeli army.
Awda indicated that 66 of the injured were transferred to hospitals, while the others were treated on-site.
Since Wednesday, the Israeli army has continued its military operation in the city of Tubas and several surrounding towns, which included raiding a large number of homes and converting some of them into military barracks, in addition to extensive property damage.
During the operation, the army arrested 162 Palestinians from the governorate, most of whom were later released after being subjected to field interrogation and mistreatment, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
Dozens of homes were also damaged and their contents destroyed, while the army converted part of them into military barracks after forcing the residents to leave.
While the Israeli army spoke of a security aspect of the operation, which is "eliminating militants," Palestinian observers warned of undisclosed objectives of the aggression, which include expanding settlements and pushing towards the displacement of Palestinians.
In the city of Jenin, the Israeli army executed two young men on Thursday after they surrendered. Video footage showed the army surrounding a building in Jenin city, then firing at close range at two Palestinians who emerged from the house with their hands raised, resulting in their deaths.
The army stated in a statement that it is conducting a field investigation into the circumstances of the incident, claiming that the two young men were wanted and that the forces had besieged them for hours before shooting them after they exited the building.
This comes amid a continuing Israeli escalation in the West Bank over the past two years, which has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 1,085 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 11,000 others, and the arrest of more than 20,500 individuals since the start of the genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023.
