Arab and International Condemnations of the Israeli Incursion in Syria's Beit Jann

The Israeli incursion into the town of Beit Jann in Syria early this Friday morning has sparked Arab and international condemnations, resulting in the death of 13 civilians and the injury of 25 others, including women and children, in addition to widespread displacement of residents.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it condemns "in the strongest terms the incursion of Israeli army forces into the Damascus countryside and the accompanying shelling that led to civilian casualties, and we affirm our full solidarity with Syria."

For its part, Jordan condemned the Israeli army's incursion and shelling of Beit Jann in the countryside of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and its "brazen" assault on the town's residents. In a statement issued by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, it considered the "Israeli aggression on Beit Jann in the Damascus countryside a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and a blatant breach of international law."

Turkey

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized Syria's unity and sovereignty, stating that "Syria must rise and recover once again."

Hamas

Meanwhile, the Hamas movement stated that "the criminal Zionist aggression against the town of Beit Jann in southern Syria, which resulted in the martyrdom of several Syrian civilians, including children, is a violation of Syrian sovereignty and a continuation of the policy of lawlessness and rampancy practiced by the Zionist occupation against the brotherly Arab states."

Israeli Army

The Israeli army is investigating the suspicion of "leaking sensitive information from Division 210, after an Israeli force preparing to arrest in Beit Jann inside Syrian territory fell into a pre-prepared ambush," according to the Hebrew website "Walla."

The site reported: "The operation was supposed to be carried out last week, but it was postponed at the last minute due to the visit of senior officials to the area. Now, an investigation is underway to determine whether its details were revealed to hostile parties."
