CORE SUBJECT

Israeli aggression

The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the "Israeli criminal aggression in the town of Beit Jinn, which led to clashes as residents resisted," noting that the occupation forces "targeted the town of Beit Jinn with brutal shelling due to their failure to infiltrate."

Israeli occupation forces had infiltrated the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside early today, clashing with residents before shelling the town, resulting in casualties and injuries, with some still trapped under the rubble.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry held the "Israeli occupation responsible for the serious aggression," while also affirming that "the continuation of these assaults threatens the security of the region."

The statement indicated that the Israeli incursion in the Damascus countryside comes "within the framework of a systematic policy to destabilize the situation and impose an aggressive reality by force."

The Syrian Foreign Ministry called on the Security Council, the United Nations, and the Arab League to take urgent action to put an end to the "policy of aggression and the repeated violations carried out by the occupation."

The statement from the Syrian Foreign Ministry also emphasized that Damascus will continue to "exercise its legitimate right to defend its land and people by all means permitted by international law," noting that Israeli aggressions will only strengthen Syria's "commitment to its rights, sovereignty, and rejection of all forms of occupation and aggression."

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8 of last year, Israel has been targeting vital Syrian sites, weapon depots, and cities and villages in Syria, and has infiltrated several areas.

Israeli vehicles infiltrate almost daily in the Quneitra countryside, in a systematic violation of the disengagement agreement of 1974.

The total number of documented incidents of Israeli assaults and violations in the Quneitra countryside during November has reached 46 incidents, including 45 military and security infiltrations and one artillery shelling incident.
