CORE SUBJECT

Israeli Violations

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that since the start of the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation last month, 535 documented violations have occurred, resulting in 350 martyrs and nearly 900 injured.

In statements to Al Jazeera Net, the Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismail Thawabteh, added that the occupation allowed the entry of only 9,930 trucks out of about 28,000 required, which is less than 35%, making the aid "a tool of war used for pressure rather than a legal or humanitarian obligation," as he expressed.

Thawabteh explained that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, and that the Israeli aggression has destroyed infrastructure and essential services, pushing health and living conditions to a level of "total catastrophe."

Shortage of Medical Supplies

Regarding the health situation and the medical sector in the area, the Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza pointed out that the shortage of food and medicine is part of a "systematic starvation policy," warning that the continuation of Israeli violations without international accountability "encourages the occupation to persist in killing and targeting civilians."

He indicated that these violations include shelling and direct targeting of civilians, shooting at farmers and fishermen, and the displaced, in addition to ongoing incursions.

Thawabteh believes that the absence of serious accountability regarding these violations gives the occupation a wider margin to continue its assaults against the civilian population.

Without Equipment

For his part, the spokesperson for the Civil Defense, Mahmoud Al-Basal, stated that the teams working in the sector are carrying out their tasks under "extremely difficult" conditions after about 90% of vehicles, equipment, and rescue and firefighting tools were destroyed due to Israeli shelling.

He noted in statements to Al Jazeera Net that the infrastructure of the centers and field teams has completely collapsed, in addition to casualties among these teams, which has made their ability to respond to citizens' needs "almost nonexistent," adding that Civil Defense teams are facing extensive debris on the roads and under the rubble, and continue to recover the bodies of martyrs despite the lack of resources.

The Civil Defense spokesperson also confirmed the existence of "clear violations" targeting the teams directly even during the ceasefire, considering them a "flagrant violation of international agreements."

He concluded that the humanitarian reality in Gaza is "extremely difficult" and requires urgent intervention and intensified international efforts "to prevent the recurrence of tragedies resulting from the continued shelling and destruction of essential services."

These statements coincide with ongoing field escalation, as 4 Palestinians were martyred this Thursday morning in the north and south of the sector due to Israeli airstrikes that targeted Rafah, Beit Lahia, Al-Maghazi, and Bani Suheila, in addition to shelling and demolitions carried out by the Israeli army behind the yellow line east of Khan Younis and east of Gaza City, targeting the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah, Al-Shuja'iyya, and other residential areas.

Israel continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement reached with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which came into effect on October 10, under Qatari, Egyptian, Turkish mediation, and American sponsorship.

The agreement ended a genocide that Israel began on October 7, 2023, which resulted in more than 69,000 Palestinian martyrs, over 170,000 injured, and caused massive destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure.
