Foreign Minister from Lebanon: The region is on the brink of escalation.. and we are communicating with all parties without exception

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, stated that Egypt strongly condemns any violation of Lebanese sovereignty in the strongest terms.

He added during a press conference after meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut today, Wednesday, that all violations being committed are illegal and must be condemned vigorously.

He emphasized that the arrogance of power will not achieve security and stability for either Israel or the region, stressing the need to engage in political solutions and that there is no military solution.

He pointed out the experience of all military solutions in the past, which have failed and yielded no results, clarifying that Egypt provides support for political solution pathways and will continue to work on de-escalation.

He noted that Egypt employs its network of regional and international relations with all parties and will not cease this effort, confirming communication with everyone to push towards a political and diplomatic solution and reduce the pace of escalation.

He stressed that the entire region is on the brink of full escalation, which does not serve the interests of any party, explaining that Egypt is in contact with all parties without exception.

He confirmed that Cairo utilizes these communications in a manner that serves de-escalation and promotes political and diplomatic solutions through dialogue and communication, whether directly or indirectly.

He emphasized that the ultimate goal of this path is to understand the realities of the situation, especially since the Lebanese state, specifically the army, has made strenuous efforts in the south to impose the state's control and sovereignty and fulfill its commitments according to the ceasefire agreement.

He affirmed that these matters carry great importance, and everyone must recognize the significance of these efforts, clarifying that Egypt is pushing for the continuation of these efforts as they serve the interests of the Lebanese state.
