Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, stated that the first phase of the comprehensive health insurance project and the 'Decent Life' initiative included the establishment and development of more than 1426 family medicine units and centers and 79 hospitals across 24 governorates.
This was announced during the launch of the sixth annual forum of the General Authority for Health Care in the New Capital under the slogan 'From Vision to Expansion... Elevating Health Care to Global Standards'.
Madbouly added that 1255 projects have been implemented as part of the investment plan of the Ministry of Health and Population, which has directly contributed to accelerating the pace of applying the system according to the timelines.
He pointed out that Egypt has achieved significant success in improving public health indicators for citizens, as confirmed by international organizations, through the main initiatives adopted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He noted that at the forefront of these initiatives is the '100 Million Health' initiative, through which the state has provided more than 250 million medical services.
He explained that these efforts culminated in the World Health Organization's announcement of Egypt receiving the gold classification in the path to eliminate Hepatitis C and declaring the country free from Hepatitis C virus, malaria, and trachoma.
He highlighted the renewal of international certification confirming Egypt's free status from measles and German measles in March 2025 for the second consecutive year, reflecting a true national philosophy based on prevention, early detection, and reducing the disease burden before it occurs.
The conference coincides with the sixth anniversary of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's launch of the comprehensive health insurance project from Port Said Governorate.
The forum includes the presentation of innovative documentary films alongside real stories that embody the extent of the transformation brought about by the comprehensive health insurance system within health facilities, showcasing examples of successes and daily efforts made to enhance services and ensure the quality of care provided to citizens.
During the first day of the forum, a series of interactive discussion sessions will be held addressing key topics in the future of health care, including building global trust in health systems, enhancing quality and innovation, and developing mechanisms for strategic partnerships to ensure the sustainability of comprehensive health insurance services.
The sessions will include in-depth discussions on balancing health, financing, and sustainability, as well as discussing the role of the private sector in expanding access to medicine and supporting the national pharmaceutical industry.
The first day of the sixth annual forum will also witness the honoring of healthcare work symbols, success partners, and winners of the annual forum competition and excellence awards from the authority, in appreciation of their contributions and efforts in supporting the health reform journey and developing the care system in Egypt.
