US-Ukrainian Agreement on Key Points of War Termination Plan

A senior Ukrainian official announced that Washington and Kyiv have reached an agreement on the key points of the plan proposed by the United States to end the war in Ukraine.

Rustam Umurov, the former Minister of Defense who now serves as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and a member of the Ukrainian negotiating team, stated: "Our delegations have reached a mutual understanding regarding the core provisions of the agreement discussed in Geneva."

"We are now relying on the support of our European partners in our next steps. We look forward to organizing a visit for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States at the earliest convenient time to finalize the steps and reach an agreement with President Donald Trump."

"After the meetings in Geneva, we see many prospects that could make the path to peace a reality. There are tangible results, and we still have much work to do." Zelensky mentioned that the proposed peace plan currently under discussion with the United States and Europe included valid points, but there are sensitive issues he will discuss with Trump.

Lavrov added that Russia would not be satisfied if the text and spirit of the agreements reached by the Russian and American presidents during their meeting in Alaska were erased from the peace plan. Lavrov noted that the United States has not officially delivered the original 28-point plan to Russia.

Levitt clarified that very fruitful discussions took place over the weekend between the president's national security team and the Ukrainian delegation, indicating that only a few points remain in dispute.

Levitt also confirmed that the president feels frustrated by the ongoing war. Although Trump halted U.S. funding for the war, the United States continues to provide or sell large quantities of weapons. "We cannot continue this indefinitely, and the president wants this war to end."

"We want peace, but we do not want a peace that is a true surrender. The Ukrainians alone are the decision-makers regarding whether they are willing to concede territory, noting that Ukraine's first line of defense in the event of peace with Russia will be to renew its army, and there can be no restrictions on that."

Kyiv's military administration chief, Tymur Tkachynko, reported that four people were killed and at least three injured in the Sviatohirsk region. Earlier, rescue workers reported two fatalities, one of whom was in a residential building in the Dniprovskyi area.

In Russia, at least three people were killed and eight injured in a Ukrainian attack on the coastal city of Taganrog and the neighboring Nikolinovsky area, on the shores of the Sea of Azov in the Rostov region, as announced by regional governor Yuri Slyusar on Telegram.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that air defense forces repelled one of the largest recent attacks by Ukrainian drones overnight, intercepting and destroying 249 Ukrainian drones.

Moldovan police confirmed the evacuation of a village after parts of a drone fell on a house in the Cuhurești de Jos area of Florești County, bordering Ukraine.

For its part, the Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that this is the first time a drone has crossed the national airspace from Vilkiv in Ukraine to the Chilia Veche area in Tulcea County in the east of the country.

Poland's Deputy Prime Minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, stated that he expects Russia to escalate its activities in the country following the bombing of a busy railway line leading to Ukraine.

Authorities accused Moscow of being behind it. Gawkowski noted that the residents of Poland and critical infrastructure are at risk as the Kremlin intensifies efforts to deter Poles from supporting Ukraine.
