Echoes of the Pyramids Festival
Artist Laila Elwi expressed her eagerness to attend the launch of the "Echoes of the Pyramids" festival in its first edition, despite being busy filming one of her projects. She noted that she would head directly to filming after the ceremony, saying: "It's enough that it's at the pyramids."
Violinist Amira Abu Zahra shared the stage with world-renowned pianist Lang Lang and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, where she performed at the beginning of the second half of the ceremony the piece "Sword Dance" from the ballet Gayaneh by Aram Khachaturian, arranged by Abour Shouts for violin and orchestra.
Lang Lang also made sure to play "Tal'at Ya Mahla Nourha" by Sayed Darwish, which the audience interacted with greatly, in addition to other pieces from his works.
Lang Lang, the most famous in the world of classical music, opened the first edition of the "Echoes of the Pyramids" festival, which carries the slogan "Cradle of Civilizations... A Meeting Point for Arts and Cultures," with an exceptional concert that combines lyricism and impressionism (Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy) and superb technical skill in Grieg's Piano Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ben Palmer.
Lang Lang expressed his happiness to perform at the opening ceremony, saying: "Thank you, Egypt, for hosting me... playing under the pyramids is a dream for me, and it is now coming true."
