World Pianist Lang Lang Performs 'Tal'at Ya Mahla Nourha' at the Opening of the Pyramids Echo Festival

World-renowned pianist Lang Lang was keen to perform the piece 'Tal'at Ya Mahla Nourha' by Sayed Darwish, which received a remarkable response from the audience, alongside pieces from his own works.

Lang Lang, one of the most prominent names in the classical music world, opened the first edition of the 'Pyramids Echo' festival under the slogan 'Cradle of Civilizations... A Meeting of Arts and Cultures' with an exceptional concert that blends lyricism and impressionism (Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy) with high technical skill in performing 'Grieg's Piano Concerto with Orchestra', accompanied by the Royal British Orchestra conducted by Ben Palmer.

Lang Lang expressed his happiness to participate in the opening concert, saying: 'Thank you, Egypt, for hosting me... playing under the pyramids is a dream for me, and it is now coming true.'

Lang Lang personally requested to share the stage with Egyptian violinist Amira Abu Zahra - who previously shone at the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum - where she will perform at the beginning of the second half of the concert 'The Sword Dance' from the ballet 'Gayaneh' by Aram Khachaturian, in the arrangement by Abour Shouts for violin and orchestra.

Lang Lang also announced his intention to present two arrangements for solo piano by Schindler; the first for a song from the works of Sayed Darwish, and the second for a popular Chinese piece, in an artistic gesture that reflects his deep appreciation for folk music heritage and its impact on shaping collective consciousness, while highlighting the possibility of combining authenticity and modernity, as well as folklore and classical styles.

The opening concert of the 'Pyramids Echo' festival is an occasion where Lang Lang presents to his audience in Egypt - including those who traveled from around the world to attend this unique event in front of the Giza Pyramids - an exceptional musical experience, as the first edition of the festival launches with high international standards befitting Egypt's cultural and artistic stature, placing it on the map of international festivals specializing in classical music.
