CORE SUBJECT
Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement
The "Gaza Government" stated on Saturday that the Israeli army killed 342 Palestinians, including 24 individuals in the past hours, due to committing 497 violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10.
The government media office in Gaza clarified in a statement that "the occupation committed 27 violations just today, resulting in 24 martyrs and 87 injured."
It noted that the total losses resulting from the violations since the start of the agreement reached "342 martyrs and 875 injured, in addition to the arrest of 35 citizens during incursions and raids."
According to the statement, "the Israeli assaults included 142 direct gunfire incidents against citizens, homes, and displaced persons' tents, 21 incursions that crossed the temporary yellow line (the area inhabited by Gaza Palestinians according to the first phase of the ceasefire agreement), and 228 ground, aerial, and artillery bombardments, in addition to 100 demolitions targeting homes and civilian facilities."
The government office stated that these violations "reflect the occupation's insistence on undermining the agreement and creating a bloody reality on the ground that threatens security and stability in the sector."
It described the violations as a "serious breach of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions."
The government office held Israel "fully responsible for the humanitarian and security repercussions resulting from these violations."
It emphasized that "the continuation of this aggressive approach will thwart any international efforts to maintain the ceasefire."
The government office called on U.S. President Donald Trump, intermediary countries, guarantor parties of the agreement, and the United Nations Security Council to take serious action "to stop these assaults, restrain the occupation, and compel it to strictly adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement and the humanitarian protocol, ensuring the protection of civilians and putting an end to the escalating violations."
It pointed out that "the continuation of these serious violations threatens stability opportunities and confirms that international pressure alone can force the occupation to respect international law and international legitimacy decisions."
The agreement ended a genocide initiated by Israel on October 8, 2023, which resulted in more than 69,000 Palestinian martyrs, over 170,000 injured, and caused massive destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
