CORE SUBJECT

Ukrainian Peace Plan

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine must agree to the proposed U.S. plan to end the war with Russia by next Thursday, considering it "the right time for Kyiv to stop the war."

In an interview with "Fox News Radio" on Friday, he added that Ukraine will inevitably lose the remaining parts of Donbas if combat operations continue, emphasizing that the proposed deadline is "appropriate" for reaching an agreement.

In his remarks, Trump stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin "is not seeking more wars," noting that he would be able to "stop Putin" if he considers attacking the Baltic states.

In another context, Trump told "Fox News" that his administration "has dispelled the dark cloud in the Middle East by reducing Iran's influence," adding that "Hezbollah is not in a good position," and announcing the possibility of reaching an agreement with Tehran.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Friday that his country could lose U.S. support if it rejects Washington's plan to end the war. He stated in a video address that "Ukraine may face a very difficult choice: loss of dignity or the risk of losing a major partner."

U.S. Pressures

Meanwhile, Kyiv is facing significant pressure from Washington to agree to the deal, with threats to stop providing intelligence and weapons support, according to Reuters sources. One confirmed that the U.S. is asking Ukraine to sign the framework agreement by Thursday.

Several sources revealed that the U.S. plan, consisting of 28 points, includes extensive concessions from the Ukrainian side, after Kyiv previously refused to make any territorial concessions.

The plan stipulates that Ukraine must relinquish the regions of Luhansk and Donetsk in the Donbas area, in addition to recognizing Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, as Russian territory in practice. It also calls for freezing the front lines in the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, which Moscow has claimed.

The plan requires Kyiv to abandon its pursuit of NATO membership and not to agree to the deployment of international forces within its territory, in addition to holding elections within 100 days.

In light of the corruption scandal that led to the ousting of two ministers in Ukraine, a clause regarding the review of foreign aid was removed and replaced with a call for a "general amnesty," according to a senior U.S. official who spoke to AFP, which was indirectly denied by Ukrainian official Rustem Umerov.
