Ukraine: We Continue to Work with American Partners on Peace Proposals

Ukraine stated that it expects other parties to respect its position while continuing to work with its American partners at the technical level in Kyiv today, Friday, to study peace proposals presented by Washington.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, said: "We are carefully studying all proposals from our partners and expect the same sound approach towards Ukraine's position," according to Reuters news agency.

Yesterday, Thursday, an American official confirmed a media report stating that the draft peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia includes a commitment from the United States and its European allies to provide security guarantees to Ukraine similar to those of NATO, pledging to respond to any future attacks against it.

A report published by the American website Axios stated that "any significant, deliberate, and ongoing military attack in the future by Russia on Ukraine will be considered an attack that threatens peace and security in the transatlantic region, and the United States and its allies will respond accordingly, including the use of military force."

Additionally, President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine includes concessions of territory to Russia and a reduction in the size of Kyiv's army, according to a draft proposal that has been circulated.

The proposal would also prevent the future expansion of NATO, which is a significant victory for Moscow, which views the alliance as a potential threat.
