Sudanese Prime Minister Kamel Idris expressed on Thursday Sudan's readiness to engage seriously with Saudi Arabia and the United States to achieve peace and security in the country.
This came in a government statement welcoming the efforts and initiatives of Saudi Arabia and the United States to establish a fair and sustainable peace in Sudan.
Idris affirmed the complete readiness to engage seriously with Riyadh and Washington to achieve peace, security, stability, and prosperity for the Sudanese people.
He expressed his gratitude to both sides for their ongoing efforts since the outbreak of war in the country to stop the fighting and seek peace in Sudan.
On Wednesday, U.S. President's Advisor for African Affairs, Masad Boulos, stated that the United States is "committed to ending the horrific conflict in Sudan."
The Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan also welcomed the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United States to establish "fair and just peace" in the country.
This came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump stated at the "U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum" held in Washington that he would "begin working" on resolving the crisis in Sudan, following a request from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
