Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris welcomed the efforts and endeavors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America to establish just and sustainable peace in Sudan.
Idris expressed his gratitude to both sides in a statement today, Thursday, for their ongoing efforts since the outbreak of war in the country to stop the fighting and seek peace in Sudan.
The Sudanese Prime Minister affirmed his full readiness to engage seriously with them to achieve peace, security, stability, and prosperity for the Sudanese people.
Early this morning, U.S. President Donald Trump posted a statement in which he spoke for the first time about the Sudanese file, following his remarks about the dialogue he had with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who explained the situation to him over 30 minutes.
In his post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump said: "Horrific atrocities are happening in Sudan. It has become the most violent place on earth, as well as the largest humanitarian crisis ever. There is an urgent need for food, doctors, and everything else. Arab leaders from around the world, particularly the respected Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who recently left the United States, have asked me to use the power and influence of the presidency to put an immediate end to what is happening in Sudan."
He added: "It is a great civilization and culture, and unfortunately, it has deteriorated, but it can be repaired through cooperation and coordination with countries, including the region's wealthy nations that want this to happen. We will work with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and other partners in the Middle East to put an end to these atrocities while simultaneously achieving stability in Sudan. Thank you for your attention to this matter. God bless the world!".
