Four criminal elements were killed and others were arrested in possession of drugs estimated at 69 million Egyptian pounds during raids on drug trade hotspots in Dakahlia.
Information and investigations by the sectors of (Public Security - Anti-Narcotics and Unlicensed Weapons and Ammunition) in coordination with the concerned ministry agencies revealed the presence of criminal hotspots in several governorates, including (highly dangerous criminal elements) possessing quantities of narcotics and unlicensed firearms in preparation for trafficking.
They were targeted with the participation of the Central Security Sector, resulting in the death of (4 highly dangerous criminal elements - previously sentenced to prison and life imprisonment for crimes including "drug trafficking, armed robbery, kidnapping, use of violence") within Dakahlia Governorate. The remaining members of these hotspots were arrested in possession of (approximately 767 kilograms of various narcotics including "hashish, hydro, shabu, heroin, opium, banjo, cocaine", 4000 narcotic and psychoactive pills, 72 firearms including "18 automatic rifles, 10 shotguns, 43 shotgun barrels, pistols"). The estimated financial value of the seized narcotics exceeds 69 million Egyptian pounds.
This comes as part of the Ministry of Interior's continued efforts to carry out preemptive strikes against criminal hotspots involved in trafficking narcotics and unlicensed firearms.
