CORE SUBJECT
Revocation of driving licenses due to failure to install electronic sticker
The Ministry of Interior announced the revocation of 666 licenses for not placing or installing the electronic sticker, issuing 868 violations to motorcycle riders for not wearing helmets, and removing 46 abandoned and dilapidated cars and motorcycles from the streets across various governorates during the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Interior decided to revoke driving and operation licenses if the electronic sticker is not installed, starting from November 1, 2021, along with taking legal measures.
Intensive traffic campaigns were directed to monitor motorcycle riders' compliance with wearing helmets.
This comes as part of the Ministry of Interior's keenness to complete the electronic system and activate all its elements to achieve the highest levels of traffic flow control.
The Ministry of Interior urged vehicle owners of all types to quickly head to their affiliated traffic departments to install the electronic sticker.
It began taking legal actions stipulated in the traffic law and its executive regulations in cases of not placing or installing the electronic sticker assigned to the vehicle, damaging it, hiding it, transferring it to another vehicle, or tampering with it in a way that invalidates it.
The Ministry also urged motorcycle riders to wear helmets and car drivers to drive in their designated traffic lanes to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce accidents on the roads, avoiding legal accountability.
Meanwhile, the Cairo Traffic Department has increased its presence on streets and squares, with traffic services spread along main corridors to remove any traffic obstructions or accidents that hinder vehicle movement in the capital's streets and facilitate citizens' access to their destinations.
Giza traffic officers launched intensive campaigns to monitor various traffic violations and to not tolerate those who violate traffic rules and etiquette, aiming to reduce traffic accidents caused by driving against the direction or illegal parking on roads.
