Mohamed Maait to Citizens: Your Endurance Will Not Be in Vain.. Egypt Overcomes Its Crises Peacefully

Dr. Mohamed Maait, Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund and representative of the Arab Group, stated that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is a tool to maximize foreign currency sources, in light of Egypt's ambitious goal to reach 30 million tourists by 2030.

He pointed out during a television interview on Al Mehwar channel that Egypt possesses much greater tourism capabilities and capacities than the current figure of 15 million tourists annually, affirming that the museum is a "very impressive necessity."

He added that the grand opening ceremony and its global promotion will positively reflect on the citizen, saying: "As long as I have tourists occupying restaurants, museums, and hotels, all of this means jobs for workers, and all of this is revenue and foreign currency for the country."

In another context, regarding Egypt's success in providing national competencies for international positions, such as his current role and the appointment of Dr. Khaled El-Anany as UNESCO Director, he said that "Egypt is fertile" and has produced geniuses and giants, "I am nothing compared to them."

He considered these figures as "Egypt's true ambassadors" and representatives of the state's soft power, affirming that "Egypt is a great country and will always remain great. Yes, it faces challenges and difficult circumstances, but it is always standing, regains its vitality, continues its path, and bears witness to this history."

He addressed a message to the Egyptian citizen, saying: "Thank you very much, you stand with your country and endure for the stability, security, and safety of Egypt. God willing, Egypt will be better, and your endurance will not be in vain."

He praised President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's ability to bear responsibility under extremely difficult conditions, saying: "President El-Sisi bears responsibility in very difficult circumstances and leads the country from one crisis to another safely, and this matters to all of us, that our country is safe and able to deal with challenges, thanks to his wisdom, patience, and great effort."

He cited the president's follow-up on every detail of the Grand Egyptian Museum project, noting the application of the same methodology to all files, adding: "Infrastructure and conditions have improved, and the most important thing is that our country crosses and continues safely."

He also addressed a message to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and his government, emphasizing that "he bore responsibility and circumstances during this period with the government and achieved accomplishments."
