Cafe and Restaurant Owners Engage in Welcoming "AFCON" Guests in Casablanca

The city of Casablanca, along with other cities across the kingdom, is experiencing intense preparations as the Africa Cup of Nations finals, hosted by the kingdom starting Sunday, approach. Various stakeholders, foremost among them cafe and restaurant owners, are preparing to welcome Moroccan and foreign fans throughout the month-long continental tournament.

In recent weeks, many cafe and restaurant owners in Casablanca have begun decorating their establishments and preparing their spaces to receive customers expected to flock in large numbers to watch the "AFCON" matches in a festive atmosphere.

In addition to decorating the streets of the economic capital with national flags and flags of African teams, and installing giant screens, some cafes have decorated their facades and upgraded their televisions and sound systems to ensure an enjoyable AFCON viewing experience for their patrons.

Through these efforts, according to professionals, cafes and restaurants aim to create an atmosphere close to that of stadiums and attract football fans, whether residents of the city or visitors coming from outside.

Moulay Ahmed Bouifkarn, an actor in the cafe sector in Casablanca, confirmed that professionals eagerly await this event to generate economic activity during this occasion, which has motivated them to prepare accordingly.

In a statement to Hespress electronic newspaper, the same professional said, "Everyone strives for this event to be historic by all standards and to honor the kingdom, which cafes and restaurants have also committed to ensuring its success."

The cafe sector representative noted that "AFCON represents a real opportunity to revive commercial activity after a period of stagnation. Therefore, many professionals have invested in preparing their spaces and adhering to safety and comfort standards to provide a better experience for customers during the matches."

For his part, Nour Eddine El Harraq, president of the National Federation of Cafe and Restaurant Owners in Morocco, explained that many venues have sufficiently prepared to offer services worthy of the event and that honor the kingdom.

El Harraq stated in a statement to Hespress electronic newspaper that these venues have created special menus and promotional offers to attract families and individuals. Moreover, some have increased the number of staff to accommodate the crowds that will watch the matches outside the stadiums.

The spokesperson mentioned that the professional body he heads has communicated with its members to raise awareness about the necessity of welcoming guests, especially foreigners, under good conditions and to present a respectable image of Morocco and its venues, in addition to decorating establishments to meet expectations.
