MP Magdy Al-Bari: Al-Burhan's Visit to Cairo Confirms Egypt's Steadfast Support for Sudan's Stability and Protection of the Interests of Both Peoples

MP Magdy Al-Bari, member of the Senate and Assistant Secretary of the Central Organization Secretariat of the Future of the Nation Party, stated that the official visit of Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council, to Cairo reflects the deep historical and strategic relations between Egypt and Sudan. It confirms the Egyptian political leadership's keenness to support Sudan's security and stability and to preserve its unity and national institutions.

Al-Bari added in a statement that the timing of the visit is highly significant amid current regional challenges, emphasizing that Egypt has been and will remain a primary supporter of its brothers in Sudan, based on the fraternal ties and shared destiny between the two peoples. He pointed out that the statement issued by the Presidency reflects Egypt's firm vision towards resolving crises through peaceful means and supporting efforts aimed at restoring stability, contributing to regional security and protecting the interests of the peoples in the region.

Al-Bari affirmed that Egypt's position, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is clear and firm, represented by supporting political solutions that fulfill the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace and stability, preserving the unity of Sudanese territory, and rejecting any attempts to divide the state or undermine its national institutions, foremost among them the Sudanese army.

He indicated that Egypt acts with a responsible and balanced approach based on supporting comprehensive political solutions that protect the blood of brothers and preserve the resources of the Sudanese people. He stressed that any attempt to tamper with Sudan's resources or establish illegitimate parallel entities is considered a direct violation of Egypt's national security that requires deterrence.

The Senate member added that Egypt, according to international charters and the joint defense agreement between the two countries, reserves the right to take all strategic measures to ensure that red lines are not crossed, emphasizing that Sudanese national institutions represent the state's safety valve, and any harm to them is a direct threat to Egypt's vital interests.

Al-Bari concluded that the visit embodies Egypt's commitment to supporting Sudanese national legitimacy and enhancing the path to stability. It confirms that the security of Khartoum is an integral part of Cairo's strategic depth, within Egypt's policy based on international and local coordination to ensure the protection of civilians and shared interests away from any interventions that threaten Sudan's sovereignty.
