Mohammed bin Zayed and Mohammed bin Rashid Congratulate King of Morocco and Its People on Arab Cup Title

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, congratulated His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the occasion of the Moroccan national team's crowning as champions of the Arab Cup, after defeating their Jordanian counterpart 3-2 yesterday following an epic match that extended into two extra periods (the original time was 2-2) at Lusail Stadium in Doha.

His Highness the President of the State said in a post on "X": "I congratulate my brother His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the brotherly Moroccan people on winning the Arab Cup (FIFA Qatar 2025) in football, after an outstanding performance and high sportsmanship spirit by both the Morocco and Jordan teams. I commend the successful organization of the tournament by the sisterly State of Qatar, and I wish everyone success in the upcoming competitions."

His Highness the Vice President of the State said in a post on "X": "All congratulations to the brotherly Moroccan people and to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the well-deserved victory of the Moroccan national team in the Arab Cup. It was a remarkable match that entertained millions, with a high spirit of sportsmanship. A Moroccan team we are proud of, and a Jordanian team we rejoice with. Our appreciation goes to the State of Qatar and its Emir for this precious tournament that united the Arabs, entertained the Arabs, and delighted the Arab peoples."

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice President of the State, and President of the Presidential Court, also congratulated the Kingdom of Morocco on winning the title, saying: "We congratulate our brothers in the Kingdom of Morocco on their victory in the Arab Cup, and we also commend the Jordanian team for their honorable performance and high competitive spirit. We appreciate the sisterly State of Qatar's excellent organization and outstanding success of the tournament, reflecting the status of Arab sports and its ability to bring brothers together."

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Vice President of the Council of Ministers, and Minister of Defense, also congratulated the Moroccan team’s victory, saying in his post: "Congratulations to the Atlas Lions... Congratulations to Morocco on this well-deserved crowning of the Arab Cup, and thanks to Jordan for this honorable performance. Thanks to Qatar for the excellent organization."

This is Morocco’s second Arab Cup title after 2012, while the "Nashama" (Jordanian team) were unable to win their first title in their first final appearance.

Morocco’s goals were scored by Oussama Tannane with a shot from about 60 meters early in the match in the 4th minute, and substitute Abderrazak Hamdallah (88th and 100th minutes). Jordan’s goals were scored by Ali Alwan (48th and 68th minutes from a penalty kick). Moroccan football continued its successes across various age groups after the team achieved a historic accomplishment in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as the first African and Arab team to reach the semifinals. The pace of successes in Moroccan football has accelerated.

This year, Morocco qualified for the 2026 World Cup, won the U-20 World Cup in Chile, the African Nations Championship, and the U-17 Championship, and capped the year with the Arab Cup title, noting that the senior national team is preparing to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil this month.
