Media personality Osama Kamal stated that the gains from the gas import deal with Israel are estimated at $30 billion over its duration.
He added during the "Masaa DMC" program aired on "DMC" on Thursday evening that the deal's value is about $35 billion, while its cost will be $65 billion, explaining that this means Egypt achieves a "profit" of $30 billion.
He mentioned that the value of Egypt's natural gas imports increased by 87.5% in the first nine months of 2025, reaching $6.3 billion.
He continued: "Multiplying the previous figure (import value) by 10 years, which is the duration of the deal, the total will reach about $63.5 billion, meaning the deal is very profitable for Egypt."
He explained that the deal means the continued operation of Egyptian liquefaction plants, the operation of many other factories, in addition to ensuring the upcoming summer seasons pass without energy problems.
Kamal pointed to the statement by the General Information Authority on Thursday, confirming that it is a "purely commercial deal" based on economic considerations, with no political dimensions or understandings involved, and that the contracting parties are global and Egyptian companies specialized in the energy sector, such as the American company "Chevron," without any direct government intervention.
He concluded by noting the Information Authority's affirmation that "Egypt's position remains firm and unchanged on the Palestinian issue, supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, rejecting displacement, and adhering to the two-state solution."
