The Olympic Stadium Enhances Rabat's Prominence

The Olympic Stadium in Rabat was inaugurated in May 2025, following construction work that combined speed and precision; establishing itself as one of the most modern sports infrastructures in Morocco.

This sports facility was designed to host athletics and football competitions at the highest levels, embodying a new phase in the Kingdom's ambition to position itself as a continental and international sports destination.

The construction work lasted about nine months, resulting in a project widely praised by national observers and international sports bodies. The project cost approximately 528 million dirhams, as part of a major investment dynamic adopted by Morocco to develop its sports infrastructure in preparation for upcoming major events.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 21,000 spectators and features elegant architectural design characterized by a partial crescent-shaped roof above the main stand, giving the facility a unique visual identity, along with providing greater comfort for the audience.

The athletics track meets the approved international standards, enabling the organization of major events such as the Mohammed VI International Athletics Meeting, one of the Diamond League stages. The stadium's field, equipped with natural grass, also allows optimal use for hosting football matches.

The stadium was designed as an integrated facility, consisting of an underground garage with a large parking area, an anti-doping center, audiovisual studios, muscle-building rooms, in addition to numerous clothing storage rooms.

The Olympic Stadium includes modern spaces dedicated to VIP and VVIP guests, reception lounges, a conference hall, audiovisual control rooms, and television studios that ensure high-quality broadcasting during major events, along with an advanced lighting system suitable for night competitions.

These facilities place the stadium among multi-purpose venues capable of hosting international competitions while adhering to the highest safety and comfort standards.

Although the stadium is primarily dedicated to athletics, it also aims to be a central venue for national and continental football.

The Olympic Stadium in Rabat is also among the selected stadiums to host several matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, reinforcing Rabat's position as a strategic sports hub.

Beyond its facilities, this sports edifice embodies Morocco's ambition to consolidate its regional leadership in organizing international events.

The inauguration ceremonies, which featured the participation of a distinguished group of the world's top runners during the Mohammed VI Meeting, confirmed the Kingdom's ability to provide facilities that meet the highest global standards.
