Sektoui: Winning the Title Remains the Most Important

Tarik Sektoui, coach of the Moroccan reserve national team, confirmed that the Arab Cup final against the Jordanian national team, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, will be decided by small details and precise nuances. He emphasized that mental focus and the ability to handle the course of the match will be decisive factors in winning the title.

Sektoui explained during the press conference held today that the Moroccan squad is well aware of the great responsibility on their shoulders. He added that the main goal since the beginning of preparing for this tournament has been to honor national football and bring the cup back to Morocco. In this context, he said that reaching the final is a positive step, but winning the title remains the most important because it alone achieves the desired goal and contributes to the continuation of the renaissance that Moroccan football is experiencing.

The reserve team coach pointed out that the players understand they represent the aspirations of Moroccan fans, confirming that the desire within the group to win is very strong. He highlighted that this desire serves as an additional motivation to exert maximum effort in the final match, despite his great respect for the Jordanian team and its capabilities.

Regarding the comparison between the two teams' desire to win, Sektoui stressed that he disagrees with the idea that Jordan is more eager for the title. He considers that his players also have strong and multiple motivations, although he admits that the Jordanian team benefits from continuity and cohesion, as its players have played together for years and participated in major competitions, in addition to their coach’s good knowledge of Moroccan football.

About the special encounter with coach Jamal Salami, Sektoui expressed pride in their relationship, describing it as excellent both on a human and professional level. He emphasized that a meeting between two Moroccan coaches in the Arab Cup final is a gain for national football, before confirming that professionalism requires each side to work for the victory of their team.

Sektoui also touched on the tactical aspects of the match, highlighting that the Jordanian team is characterized by tight defensive organization and the ability to close spaces.
