CORE SUBJECT

Plan to develop poultry wealth and support breeders in Assiut

Major General Hesham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, continued his public meetings with citizens in various villages and centers of the governorate, implementing the directives of the political leadership to enhance direct communication with citizens and listen to their demands, achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030.

The Governor of Assiut held an expanded public meeting with the residents of Kom Buha Bahri village in the Deirout center, following up on a previous meeting at the governorate's general office, to discuss ways to develop poultry wealth and improve integrated agricultural activities, as part of the governorate's plan to establish economic blocs that contribute to improving living standards and supporting the local economy.

The meeting was attended by deputy ministers from the Ministries of Education, Social Solidarity, Youth and Sports, Housing, Agriculture, Labor, Roads and Transport, alongside representatives from the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, Suzanne Mohamed Radi, Head of Deirout Center and City and her deputies, Mayor Eva Habil, former member of the Senate, a number of executive and popular leaders, family elders, Islamic and Christian religious figures, media representatives, and crowds from the village and neighboring villages.

The meeting, held in a tent set up in the village, began with the national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech from Mayor Eva Habil, who expressed her appreciation for the governor's keenness to be among the citizens and listen closely to their demands, affirming that this approach reflects the political leadership's interest in supporting villages, youth, and advancing development efforts on the ground.

The governor confirmed that Kom Buha Bahri village is one of the distinguished models nationwide in poultry breeding, due to its accumulated expertise and the widespread practice of this activity among its residents, noting that this distinction calls for supporting breeders and strengthening the existing economic bloc to increase production and achieve real added value.

Abu Al-Nasr explained that the governorate is working to provide desert hinterland lands and state-owned properties to establish model farms away from residential clusters, preserving public health and the environment, along with establishing a poultry market and exchange integrated with a semi-automated slaughterhouse, display pens, and storage refrigerators under full veterinary supervision.

He also pointed to providing support and financing through the governorate, the Small Projects Development Agency, and banks, with easy loans and low interest rates, especially with the approaching holy month of Ramadan, contributing to increasing supply and stabilizing prices.

The governor tasked organizing breeders and village youth into groups and blocs and holding specialized meetings to discuss mechanisms for implementing proposed development projects in partnership with the governorate.

During the dialogue with citizens, the governor directed the establishment of a youth center, a cultural palace, and community classes to serve the village residents, along with completing ongoing "Decent Life" projects, especially drinking water and sanitation, in preparation for street paving, as well as studying the establishment of a fertilizer warehouse and providing bran quotas to eligible beneficiaries.

At the end of the meeting, the residents of Kom Buha Bahri village expressed their appreciation for the visit of the Assiut governor and his supportive decisions for developing poultry wealth and improving service levels, affirming their confidence in the continuation of the governorate's efforts to achieve comprehensive development.
