CORE SUBJECT
International Force Meeting in Gaza
An informed source told Al-Araby TV that yesterday's Tuesday meeting in Doha regarding the international force in Gaza was neither decisive nor fruitful compared to Washington's expectations. The source added that several countries did not participate in the meeting called by the U.S. Central Command in Doha yesterday, according to the channel's breaking news on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, the Israeli Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported today, Wednesday, citing diplomatic sources, that 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, were absent from the meeting. This new development comes ahead of an anticipated meeting in Israel to discuss the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which came into effect on October 10. According to Haaretz, among the countries absent from the meeting were Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, European countries such as Belgium, Romania, and Estonia, and East Asian countries like South Korea and Nepal. Turkey also did not attend the meeting held in Doha due to Israel's refusal to allow Ankara's participation in the international force, despite Turkey being the only country that expressed a desire to join the force without specifying any conditions regarding the deployment locations of its troops in the Gaza Strip. So far, the identities of the countries that will officially participate in the international force in Gaza have not been finalized. U.S. President Donald Trump wishes for the force to be launched early next year in January 2026. Trump is pushing for the establishment of a technocratic government, or what he calls the "Peace Council," by the end of next April.
